Why you need a real estate business plan

Now, you might be wondering why you would need a business plan. After all, you’re not looking to fundraise from investors or get a bank loan like a traditional company. While this is true, a business plan is a means-tested outline for you to organize all of the different things you do as a REALTOR®. It’s an opportunity to systematically think about your:

Daily activity,

  • Resources,

  • Marketing efforts,

  • Lead generation,

  • Real estate software and technology,

  • Sphere of influence, and

Last but not least:

  • Results

What to expect

Once you go through this exercise, you’ll have a great sense of your strengths and opportunities. You can set up your daily tasks, marketing activities, and even sales scripts to highlight these strengths to your clients.

You’ll also have a sense of your areas of opportunity. This gives you the chance to address them. This can mean working on a particular skill, devoting more resources to a particular area of your business, trying different technologies, or hiring someone whose strengths fill a particular gap.

Using a real estate business plan, you’ll have actionable take-aways to schedule into your calendar and work on. Your 2022 vision isn’t some “would be nice” dream. It’s a series of decisions and actions successful Realtors take the time to identify and then make it happen.
